Sixshooters Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Sixshooters faced a stiff challenge from Mercer Island pitcher James Lendell Basford, but persevered to claim a win at Mercer Island Grounds. The final score was 5-4. Basford went 7 innings and allowed no earned runs. The win was credited to José Díaz in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Carlos Cardoso took the loss. The 7th-place Sixshooters have won 5 straight.
Westwood relied on the bat of Rafael Urrutiz to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Sixshooters ahead, 5-3. For the game, Urrutiz had 1 double and 1 triple in 6 at-bats.
