Continentals Come Up Short at Springfield
|
The Springfield Shooters topped the Chesapeake Continentals by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Manny Dedo. Dedo went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Shooters on the day. Jason Poulter, credited with the win, is now 5-6. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings. Springfield is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Charles Sheffield's at-bat in the bottom of the fourth was significant for the Shooters. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Springfield trailing 3-0, the second baseman hit a 2-run single.
