The Virginia Palladium Sox stymied the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-2, at Palladium Labs. Cristo Cuervo, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Virginia. Virginia reliever Evan Groenevelt got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Adrik Mihalushkin was tagged with the loss. Mercer Island has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Jack Cobb had a big 3-run home run for the Palladium Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Virginia trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Adrik Mihalushkin and stroked the home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Palladium Sox ahead, 4-2.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Cuervo told the Virginia Herald.
