Clement Slugs Thunder Hawks to 8-2 Win
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks bested the Virginia Palladium Sox by a score of 8-2, with left fielder Gregory Clement getting the main credit. On the day, Clement hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Thunder Hawks. Ft. Polk South reliever Xiu-tou Song picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Tony Torres shouldered the loss. With the win over Virginia, the Thunder Hawks improved to 48-44.
Clement contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ft. Polk South in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Clement took a fastball from Tony Torres and stroked the home run to right. His 24th home run of the season allowed the Thunder Hawks to leap in front, 4-2.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Clement.
