Shooters Drop Another One
|
The Atlantic City Sonics knocked off the Springfield Shooters, 3-1, at Springfield Stadium. Ricardo Yates, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Atlantic City won. The left fielder was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Peter Routledge earned the save for Atlantic City, his 2nd. The slumping Shooters have dropped 9 in a row.
Yates had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Gary Albert, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Sonics a 3-1 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Yates.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Decheng Sun.
