Thunder Hawks Pick Up 5-4 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks eventually prevailed at Mercer Island Grounds.
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks stopped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-4, at Mercer Island Grounds. The Thunder Hawks got a big game from Anastasio Flores, who was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Ft. Polk South reliever António García was the winner. His record is now 5-2. Carlos Cardoso took the loss.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when first baseman Carlos Castro, who is tied for 5th in the PAA in runs scored with 55, drew a walk. The Thunder Hawks went on to win.
"We found a way to get it done," Castro said.
Ft. Polk South, now 43-40, holds 5th place in the Premier AA.
