Continentals Shut Out Thunder Hawks
|
A nice crowd turned out to see the Chesapeake Continentals and Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks clash at Thunder Hawks Ballpark.
Chesapeake turned a good effort from starter Shaun Stroud into a win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 7-0. Stroud got the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Stroud allowed no earned runs.
Chesapeake relied on the bat of Manuel Márquez to get the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Continentals ahead, 2-0. For the game, Márquez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Márquez.
Chesapeake is now 30-51, Ft. Polk South 42-39.
