Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Flint Myers, the Yakima Hops defeated the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 11-8. Myers went 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Hops. The winner was Yakima reliever Floyd Edwards, now 1-0. The loser was Wilson Rangel. Yakima now owns a record of 37-44.

The most crucial at-bat for Yakima came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Myers stroked a 2-2 fastball to right for a grand slam home run, putting Yakima up, 11-8.
