Mercer Island first baseman Byron Ballard staked his team to an early lead in the top of the second inning, when he grounded out, driving in 1 run with the bases loaded.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Keirl told the Mercer Island Daily News.
