Palladium Sox Win Thriller, 11-9
|
The Virginia Palladium Sox topped the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 11-9, with center fielder Juan Ocasio playing a big role. Ocasio was 3-6 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Palladium Sox in the win. The winner was Virginia reliever Ron Harris, now 2-0. The loser was Marcus Morgan. The 6th-place Palladium Sox now have a 7-game winning streak.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the 13th, with Virginia trailing 9-7, Ocasio hit a knuckle curve from Dave Mitchell for a grand slam home run, giving the Palladium Sox the walk-off win.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Ocasio.
