Thunder Hawks Pin 7-4 Loss on Sixshooters
|
Ft. Polk South second baseman Terry Kurucz was instrumental in his team's 7-4 win over the Westwood Sixshooters. Kurucz, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in bases on balls with 45, went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Thunder Hawks. Job Janssen earned the save, his 8th, for the Thunder Hawks. The win puts the Thunder Hawks at 35-31, while the Sixshooters drop to 26-40.
Carlos Castro produced at a critical juncture for Ft. Polk South. It happened in the top of the eighth with Dan Bond on the mound and Ft. Polk South leading 5-4. That's when the 24-year old first baseman Castro drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Castro, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
