Beavers Fall Short, 7-6, at Gibtown
|
Gibtown beat Northwest Territory at Wrigley Field, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to center fielder Dan Quintana, who earned player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Graeme Clark earned the save, his 8th. Gibtown occupies 11th place in the Menard's R at 36-60.
Gibtown first baseman Jeff McNeice made his contribution to the Elephants cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first inning. For the day, McNeice went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Quintana. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
