Tigers Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Gabriel Alvarado pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Bompton Baby Lakers, despite Alvarado's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Twinsburg Tigers at Field of the Browns. Twinsburg starter Hsiao-lou Lei was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 11-5. The first-place Tigers now have a 6-game winning streak.
Twinsburg used the timely hitting of Brian Myers to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Tigers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Tigers manager Noel Ballard, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
