Shini Spins Shutout
Before the game, Kimitada Shini said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Beaver Town, the Beavers pitcher whitewashed the Amarillo Submarinos 3-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Shini said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."

The Northwest Territory starter held Amarillo scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 12 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Submarinos manager Seth Rice said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
