Snowpeople Turn Back Germantown, 2-0

The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople topped the Germantown Uruguayans, 2-0, in M3L Rookie action at The Igloo. The player of the game was Ellesmere Island pitcher and Jackson, Missouri native Dave Becker. Becker got the win, improving to 8-9. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. Becker allowed no earned runs. Darrell Bannatyne notched his 2nd save in 3 chances.
Had Ramiro Castillo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Castillo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Snowpeople.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Castillo. "More importantly, I had a good game."
The Uruguayans have now dropped 6 straight.
