Gibtown Elephants starter António López turned in an exceptional performance against the Canonniers de Quebec at Paints Ballpark, resulting in a Gibtown win, 6-1. The win puts the Elephants at 33-56, while the Canonniers de Quebec drop to 53-36.
The Elephants got a big at-bat from third baseman Robinson Vargas. For the game, Vargas went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Gibtown a 2-0 lead.
