Tigers Cut Down Beavers, 8-4
|
The Twinsburg Tigers topped the Northwest Territory Beavers, 8-4, in M3L Rookie action at Dodge Field. The player of the game was Twinsburg pitcher Hsiao-lou Lei. Lei, now 10-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Lorenzo Encarnación earned his 7th save in 9 chances.
Harold Dansey was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Twinsburg. The 20-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Cecil Drabek. It was his 27th RBI of the season.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Dansey, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Tigers improved to a lofty 62-26.
