Loss to Tigers Extends Gibtown Losing Streak
|
In a well-pitched game between the Twinsburg Tigers and the Gibtown Elephants, pitcher Eddie de Vlaming was fantastic. The Twinsburg right-hander was named the player of the game in Twinsburg's 3-0 win. In 6.1 innings, de Vlaming surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Twinsburg has now won 3 straight, while the Elephants have lost 6 in a row.
Twinsburg used the bat of Charlie Cummings to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tigers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It's a mindset," said de Vlaming. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
