Fewings Raps Greenport for 5 Hits
|
It seemed that Amarillo center fielder Caspar Fewings could do no wrong as the Warheads KO'd the Harbor Whales, 7-5 today. Fewings rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Harbor Whales hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Warheads were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Greenport fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Fewings in the postgame press interview.
Caspar Fewings doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.
For the season Fewings is hitting .286, batted in 30 runs with 2 home runs and 42 runs scored.
