Snowpeople Lose to Harbor Whales in Walk Off
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales picked up a win at Ballpark of Robbins, knocking off the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 1-0. Starting pitcher Alfredo Molina played a key role in the triumph. Greenport reliever Donnie Ash picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Millard Whipp absorbed the loss. Greenport, at 39-34, sits in 5th place in the Menard's R.
Germán López was the walk-off hero for Greenport. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Harbor Whales pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"I had a good game plan," said Molina. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Fernando Mendoza said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
