Ellesmere Island starter Dave Becker put a stranglehold on the Gibtown offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Snowpeople to a 7-1 win. The winning pitcher was Becker, now 7-7. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Ellesmere Island is now 35-37, Gibtown 27-45.

Ellesmere Island used the timely hitting of Alan Campbell to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Snowpeople on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Becker told the Ellesmere Island Chronicle.
