The Submarinos had to overcome a good performance from Gibtown pitcher António López to claim a 6-4 win at Wrigley Field. López went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Getting the save was Donovan Poe, his 16th. Amarillo has now won 3 straight, while the Elephants have lost 3 in a row.

A critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning when the Submarinos sent 19-year-old designated hitter Luke Crawford to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Amarillo on top, 6-4.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Amarillo manager Seth Rice.
