Extra-Inning Win by Submarinos over Harbor Whales
|
The Submarinos faced a stiff challenge from Greenport pitcher Todd Hanley, but persevered to claim a win at Terriers Ballpark. The final score was 6-5. Hanley went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The 9th-place Submarinos improved to 25-37.
Amarillo took a 6-5 lead on Koi-sho Xú's 28th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Xú hit in the bottom of the 20th, left Greenport pitcher John Kersey shaking his head.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Xú. "And not try to do too much."
