Warheads Go Down to Defeat, 4-2
|
The Sheridan Deer got a stellar performance from pitcher Bertrand Scotton, who handcuffed the Amarillo offense en route to a 4-2 win at Sheridan Forest. Arturo Cuellar was credited with the save for Sheridan, his 16th of the season. Amarillo has now lost 4 in a row.
Early in the game, designated hitter Kelvin Schmidt had a 2-run single for Sheridan. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Deer on top, 3-1.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Scotton. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
