Elephants Walk It Off for 20th Win of Season
|
The Gibtown Elephants got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Tobin Basch, but it was good enough for the club to take a 3-2 decision over the Bompton Baby Lakers. Gibtown reliever Graeme Clark picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Denny Matthews absorbed the loss. The Elephants go to 20-35, putting them last in the Menard's R.
Mark Mears was the walk-off hero for Gibtown. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Elephants third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"I like what I saw today," said Gibtown manager Philippe Parmentier, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
