The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids topped the Charleston Battery, 5-4, in United States Premier League action at Charleston Armory. The player of the game was Northern Virginia pitcher and Haskell, Arkansas native Henry Henry. The Battery fall to 7-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.

It could have been a different outcome for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Phil McCroskey, the 27-year old center fielder . McCroskey contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Northern Virginia up, 2-0.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Henry, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
