Mae Tags Beavers for 5 Hits
|
Today at Sheridan Forest, Haechan Mae put on an impressive display.
The Sheridan Deer second baseman tagged Northwest Territory pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Northwest Territory Beavers by the score of 7-5.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Mae said. "5-for-7 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Deer manager was unwilling to offer his second baseman much praise, saying he holds his "whole roster" accountable for losses.
"Haechan told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Scott Alexander said.
Haechan Mae flied out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 11th.\n
Posting a .267 batting average to date, Mae has 1 home run and 21 RBIs.
