Deer Stymie Germantown, Take 5-1 Win
|
Sheridan pitcher Dan Webster did his part in helping his team beat the Germantown Uruguayans, 5-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Arturo Cuellar got the save, the 13th for him this season. The 5th-place Deer raised their record to 24-23.
Leonardo Rodríguez had a big run-scoring single for the Deer in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Sheridan leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Nicolas Alonso and stroked the single to left. It was his 35th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Deer ahead, 2-0.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Webster.
