Tigers Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
The Twinsburg Tigers topped the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-3, with left fielder Charlie Cummings playing a big role. Cummings went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 4 runs for the Tigers in the win. Elliot Roebuck sewed up the save, his 2nd. The first-place Tigers have won 4 straight games.
Cummings contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Twinsburg in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Cummings took a cutter from Dave Becker and stroked the double to right-center. His 7th double of the season allowed the Tigers to leap in front, 4-3.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cummings said after the game.
