Dirty Reds Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus D.C.
|
Benefiting from Tae-gyoon Ch'oe's productive game, the San Mateo Dirty Reds downed the D.C. Divided, 6-4. Ch'oe was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles for the Dirty Reds. José Barquero earned the save, his 1st. San Mateo is now 21-22.
San Mateo used the timely hitting of Hugh Mungus to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dirty Reds ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Mungus told the San Mateo Herald.
