Amarillo Beats Twinsburg, 5-2
|
Amarillo starter Artzouig Hreghen pitched effectively against the Twinsburg Tigers at Dodge Field. The left-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Hreghen, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Amarillo, at 15-20, occupies 8th place in the Menard's R.
Amarillo third baseman Ryan Blonke contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 19th hit of the season and put the Submarinos ahead, 3-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Hreghen said.
