Tigers Come Back Late to Clip Warheads
|
Benefiting from Charlie Cummings's productive game, the Twinsburg Tigers downed the Amarillo Warheads, 6-3. Cummings was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. Rob Butler was the winner. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Twinsburg is now 22-6, 4 games up in the Menard's R.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when right fielder Keaton Kringlen, who is rated as the 37th best prospect by BNN, hit a single. The Tigers went on to win.
When asked about his performance after the game, Cummings said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
