Fire Get Close Win Over Rhinos
The Franklin Fire got a magnificent performance from pitcher George Battle, who stifled the Redwood offense en route to a 2-1 Fire win at The Zoo. The winning pitcher was Battle, now 2-6. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 2. Franklin is in 9th place in the Silver R with a record of 43-50.

Mario Gutiérrez's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant for the Fire. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Franklin trailing 1-0, the third baseman hit a sacrifice fly.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Battle told the Franklin Today.
