Dirty Reds Fall Short, 3-2, at Phoenix
|
Phoenix Hotspur starter Jorge Otero turned in an exceptional performance against the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Chase Field, resulting in a Phoenix win, 3-2. Otero, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Nees Stroo nailed down his 7th save.
The Hotspur grabbed the lead in the bottom of the first. With two out, Tadayoshi Watanabe hit a solo home run off Anastasio Cabanillas Jr., putting Phoenix in front, 2-0. For Watanabe, it was his 6th home run of the season.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Otero.
San Mateo's current losing streak is now 5 games.
