The Bompton Baby Lakers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bungay Osiman, who stifled the Ellesmere Island offense en route to a 3-1 Baby Lakers win at The Igloo. Osiman got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Osiman allowed 1 earned run. Denny Matthews earned the save for Bompton, his 1st of the year.

Bompton used the timely hitting of Jason Portillo to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Baby Lakers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Osiman told a Bompton Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."

Bompton is 9-12 and Ellesmere Island, with the loss, 8-13.
