Degré Lifts Warheads to 9-1 Triumph
Amarillo played host to Gibtown at the friendly confines of Ballpark of Henderson.

The Amarillo Warheads topped the Gibtown Elephants by the score of 9-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Tippi Degré. Degré was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once for the Warheads on the day. Reliever Jhon Aimar picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. António López took the loss.

With Amarillo leading 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Degré hit a fastball from Ramón Rodríguez for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Warheads ahead, 8-1.

Degré expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."

Amarillo, now 11-6, has played well in the early going.
