Fire Score Late to Upend Biscuits, 7-5
|
Franklin center fielder Nick McGhee was instrumental in his team's 7-5 win over the Montgomery Biscuits. McGhee, who is tied for 3rd in the SR in RBI with 48, went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Fire. The win was credited to Myung-chor Chong in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Sun Kan took the loss. Franklin is now 35-43.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until McGhee delivered big-time for Franklin, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Karisnu Raghunathan. The game-changing hit put the Fire on top, 7-5.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," McGhee told the Franklin Today. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
