Victory Pushes Biscuits Record to 34-29
|
The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Surprise Shockers, 5-0, in USSL Rookie action at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, with Montgomery center fielder Emílio Vivas named player of the game. Montgomery reliever Jeff Long was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Jorge Bigro. The second-place Biscuits raised their record to 34-29.
The Biscuits benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Dana George at bat and Montgomery leading 1-0, the Surprise miscue allowed Montgomery to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
Vivas told a Montgomery Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
