Hicksville played host to Franklin at the friendly confines of Hound Pound.

Behind a solid performance from first baseman Aloysius Szymanski, the Hicksville Hounds defeated the Franklin Fire, 7-2. Szymanski went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Hounds. Glenn Underwood picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-2. He struck out 3 in 6.1 innings.

In the first inning, Szymanski had a run-scoring double for Hicksville. It was his 15th double of the season and put the Hounds on top, 2-0.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Szymanski.

The Hounds saw their win-loss record go to 34-29. At the same time, the Fire fell to 31-32.
