Hotspur Academy Walk Off with 3-2 Win
Phoenix Hotspur Academy starter Bernard Hewer turned in a sterling performance against the Franklin Fire, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Phoenix reliever Heath Brown picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-7. José Rivera was collared with the loss. The second-place Hotspur Academy lifted their record to 29-23.

Joshua Sanford was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hotspur Academy designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Sanford told the Phoenix Observer. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
