The Redwood Rhinos topped the Capital Hill Interns by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Nathan Brannon. Brannon went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Rhinos on the day. Javier Merlo locked down his 12th save. With the win, the Rhinos improved to 22-26.
The result might have been different for Redwood, had it not been for Juan Lugo. The shortstop produced a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 5-4. For the game, Lugo had 2 doubles and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Capital Hill manager Francisco Fernández said following the tough loss.
