Flamingos Come Back Late, Nip Hotspur
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos and Phoenix Hotspur played an exciting game at Chase Field.
The Las Vegas Flamingos topped the Phoenix Hotspur, 4-3, in United States Silver League action at Chase Field. The player of the game was Las Vegas pitcher and Noda, Japan native Hikaru Yamaguchi. Las Vegas reliever Isaaka Ienimea picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Rust Cohle absorbed the loss. Vaugh Chesser earned the save for Las Vegas, his 8th of the year.
Las Vegas used the clutch hitting of Ruud van Ineveld to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Flamingos the lead, 4-3. For the game, van Ineveld had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said van Ineveld after the game.
Las Vegas is now 18-15, Phoenix 13-20.
