Biscuits Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Fire
|
The 2038 season is getting ugly for Franklin.
Franklin got a terrific performance from pitcher Yakobo Mutahi, but it wasn't enough to beat the Montgomery Biscuits. Montgomery won the Lawmen Ballpark contest, 6-1. Mutahi was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Ron Holland got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 0.
Montgomery used the timely hitting of Chris Carson to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Biscuits on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Montgomery manager Félix Cruz.
The Biscuits raised their record to 14-14.
