Baby Blues Score Late, Upend Hotspur Academy, 1-0
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Academy wasted an inspired, 8.1-inning effort from starter Bernard Hewer, falling 1-0 to the Quebec City Baby Blues at Ballpark of Fresno. The Baby Blues now have a record of 14-13 with the win over Phoenix.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Elwiin de Meij, hit a double. It helped Quebec City seize the win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Phoenix skipper John Aston.
