Hotspur Academy Get Close Win Over Hounds
|
The Hotspur Academy had to overcome a fine effort from Hicksville pitcher José Reyes to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Ballpark of Fresno. Reyes went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The third-place Hotspur Academy now have a 4-game winning streak.
The Hotspur Academy were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Carl Bailey turned a first pitch fastball from Emilio Linger into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Phoenix a thrilling 3-2 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Bailey said.
