Hicksville and Redwood duked it out at Hound Pound and the Hounds came out victorious.

The Hicksville Hounds defeated the Redwood Rhinos, 4-3, in USSL Rookie action at Hound Pound, with Hicksville pitcher Glenn Underwood named player of the game. Hicksville has a record of 9-10.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Hounds sent 20-year-old first baseman Aloysius Szymanski to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run, to put Hicksville on top, 4-3.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Szymanski said after the game.
