The Franklin Fire beat the Montgomery Biscuits, 8-3, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The Fire got a fine performance from catcher Randy Baker, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Gan Hui nailed down his 1st save. The Biscuits, now 8-7, continue their sluggish start.
Franklin right fielder Roberto Arroyo helped his team get ahead early. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Arroyo told the Franklin Today. "Whatever it takes."
