The Phoenix Hotspur Academy got a stellar performance from pitcher Edward Martin, who handcuffed the Redwood offense en route to a 7-1 win at Ballpark of Fresno. In 8 innings, Martin surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The win leaves Phoenix with a record of 9-6.
The Hotspur Academy grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth. With two out, Man-su Sin hit a 3-run home run off Nick Cole, putting Phoenix in front, 7-0. For Sin, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
