Rams Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Franklin
|
The Ladue Rams topped the Franklin Fire, 6-3, in USSL Rookie action at Lawmen Ballpark. The player of the game was Ladue pitcher and Round Lake Beach, Illinois native Mike Bennett. Bennett, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. The save was credited to Jack Fisher, his 4th.
Ladue relied on the hitting of You-liang Yang to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rams on top, 6-3. For the game, Yang had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Bennett told the Ladue Bulletin.
The Fire, at 3-9, have stumbled out of the gate.
