Behind a solid performance from center fielder Trent Armstrong, the Hicksville Hounds defeated the Capital Hill Interns, 13-3. Armstrong went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Hounds. Glenn Underwood, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Capital Hill to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hicksville designated hitter Juan Alonso had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Alonso stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 3-1, Hicksville. For the game, he went 3-5 with 3 singles.

"It feels good to get this one," Alonso told the Hicksville News.
